Canon Shutters Film Camera Development

Canon has acknowledged the decline of the film camera segment by announcing that no new film cameras would be developed. The development, unlike Nikon's announcement earlier this year, is not a complete withdrawal. Canon will continue to produce existing cameras as long as demand is present. A complete production shutdown is "decided appropriately by judging the market situation," according to Canon spokesman Hiroshi Yoshinaga.
