Microsoft's JPEG-Killer?

DCViews reports that Microsoft has revealed a new image file format that will accompany the launch of the upcoming Windows Vista. The new operating system will introduce the Windows Media Photo file, which supposedly provides better image quality at half the size of current JPEG formats. As many channels have noted, it remains to be seen how well-received this format is by the imaging industry.
