The Nikonians On Location #41 - Pragmatic Printing
Seeing your images on print can be very rewarding, and even though many photographers never make prints any more, others say that it ain't a real picture until it's printed.
Show Notes: November 10, 2008
On Location's Martin Joergensen falls somewhere in the category "Is OK with images on a screen, but loves a great print". This week he takes his HP B8850 pigment based A3/13x19" printer through the paces and introduces you to his way of printing - unsophisticated but with great results.

Hi Martin,
thanks again for your great podcast!
When you're talking about your workflow I get the feeling that you should definitely think about a software like Aperture, Lightroom, Bibble... Your life would be so much easier - and the number of your images that will end in Photoshop will drop from 100% to 5% I guess.
Both Apple and Adobe offer a trial version. And I'm sure you will never go back :-)

Jens,
I have had several workflow-centric image editing programs running, and some of them do have much of what I need and want, but I see two main advantages with Photoshop:
1) I use a lot of layers, layer masks, complex brushes, feathered cut&paste and many more tools, of which very few are available in most of the programs you mention.
2) I know Photoshop in my sleep. I have been using it since version 2 or 3 (with no CS), and the shortcuts, the menus and functions are in my fingers like few other programs.
I have tried most of the other raw-conversion and image editing programs, and always end back in Photoshop.
