Annotate! by Nikonians - New, free software
Annotate! by Nikonians is a free software tool which enables you to easily make notes directly onto images without any image editing needed. The program is very easy to use, making it easy to to give image critique, or to have teams working jointly on images, such as in publishing, architects ...
Direct download of Annotate! Just click the INSTALL button. The program runs on MS Windows only right now. We will likely launch a Macintosh version of the program later. A user guide is available by pressing function key "F1".

I'm a professional photographer working out of Clearwater Fl. I'd say 90% of the photographers I know here are all editing on a Mac. Therefore, I'm disappointed that you are releasing "Annotate" for Windows only and only state "We will likely launch a Macintosh version of the program later." Not only disappointed but surprised
given the preference of the pro's I know for the Mac operating system. How come? Can you explain what your thinking was?

David,
Yes, Mac has a strong foothold in imaging, definitely. I am myself a Mac user. We decided to create a native application for Windows using .NET C# since some 80% of our userbase at Nikonians are Windows users, so majority won. We are very inclined to create a native Mac app as well and I hope we will have news on that later this summer. Until then, you can indeed use the app on Mac, but: 1) You need the .NET environment for Mac called "mono" (http://www.mono-project.com) and 2) you will NOT be able to save the data back into the header of the JPG - which is a MAJOR DRAWBACK, you can ONLY EXPORT your work (this is a Mono limitation).
