            <title>D3 and D700 Firmware upgrades</title>
            <description><![CDATA[I just finished upgrading the firmware on my D3 and D700 (to v2.1
and 1.1 respectively). One of the things this is supposed to address is
auto-focus in dim lighting.<br /><p><br /><br />I did some initial tests on focusing in the shadows. It appeared a bit faster to start and finish the hunt. <br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">WOW!</span><br /><br />Then I put the new 50mm f1.4 AFS-G lens on.  This didn't really focus any better than the original 50mm f1.4 AF lens.  <span style="font-style: italic;">But after the firmware upgrade</span>, this lens now focuses much quicker.  The way I was hoping and expecting it too.<br /><br />Thank you Nikon!</p> ]]></description>
