Infrared photo wins New Member Contest first week honors
Congratulations to Silver member Richard Kain (MNisgreat) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, winner of our First Week of eligibility in the Nikonians Welcoming Photo Contest - Phase VI.
Dick is a new member with experience in infrared and landscape photography. His winning entry is titled "Garden of Emptiness." It was taken with his Nikon D70s (modified for infrared) and AF DX Fisheye-NIKKOR 10.5mm f/2.8G ED lens. He used an aperture of f/10 with the shutter speed at 1/400 and ISO 800.
Dick tells us:
"This picture was taken in Kyoto, Japan at the Garden of Emptiness. I like the infrared effect and the fisheye distortion, which causes you to look into the garden.
I'm looking forward to the connections I can make and the information I can learn through Nikonians. Thanks for being here!"
As his prize, he will be receiving a license for the award winning Topaz Photoshop Plug-in Bundle courtesy of Topaz Labs (currently valued each at $180 USD).
Our contest continues and a new winner will be announced for the next four weeks, during the five week span of Phase VI.
Check the Welcoming Photo Contest - Phase VI announcement for details.
