Nikonians Academy September-October Highlights
September and October offer the full gamut of Nikonians Academy workshops and photo adventures. Our weekly spotlight features the fourth annual wildlife and landscapes workshop in Wyoming, Urban and street photography in Boston and Seattle, and the Masters Series in Colorado and London, United Kingdom.
Check out these highlights:
Grand Teton Wildlife and Landscapes
This September 30 - October 3 workshop is our fourth Grand Teton photo adventure with Jim and he knows how to run them well. He works hard to find the wildlife so you are able to create amazing images in one of North America's most beautiful locations.
You will shoot:
Bull moose in a backdrop of fall colors are the bill-of-faire at Grand Teton NP and we spend as much time as it takes to get special images of this magnificent animal. Other wildlife may include, Bison, Elk, Pronghorn, Black and Grizzly Bears, Coyote, Fox, River Otters, Beavers, and Wolves. We will also look for Bald Eagles, Great Gray Owls, Trumpeter Swans, and Osprey. Landscapes will include the Snake River, Autumn Colors with the Grand Tetons, Oxbow Bend, Schwabacher Landing, Moulton Barn, and Jackson and Jenny Lakes.
You will experience:
The Grand Tetons in the fall, being near wild animals, the feeling of wilderness, great camaraderie, exceptional photo opportunities, and lots of fun. No strenuous hiking.
Urban and Street Photography
These highly regarded four-day workshops with a maximum enrollment of 10 people are led by Rick Hulbert, one of our Nikonians Photo Professors in Boston September 26 - 29 and Seattle October 24 - 27.
This workshop series is designed to improve your photography regardless of whether you consider picture taking a hobby, or you are a serious enthusiast, or a professional photographer, or earn your living as a member of the global real estate, design, and construction industries.
There are rules for photographing buildings and other man-made structures, and knowing these rules will make you a better photographer. Mastering these rules will allow you to learn how “break” them in a deliberate, meaningful way.
You will learn how a basic understanding of street photography will assist in your architectural and urban photography. You will discover how the fundamental principles of travel photography will enhance your architectural and urban imaging. While the illustrated lectures will give you the fundamental information you need, we will spend a significant portion of the workshop in the field, with hands on photography.
