Urban and Street Photography Workshop comes to Europe
After various locations across the United States and Canada, Rick Hulbert?s Urban and Street Photography Workshop comes also to London and Munich in May 2015.
The cool thing about urban enviroments is they are both subjects and settings, offering a great potential. The purpose of the workshop is to get you to think about concepts in architectural and urban photography that you hadn?t thought of or considered before.
The workshop is designed to improve your photography regardless of your level. Moreover, there is no requirement for a fancy equipment and Rick encourages potential students to bring any DSLR camera brand, as well as point and shoot cameras, new mirrorless cameras and even camera phones.
The four days offer a portion of illustrative lectures as well as shooting in the field, followed by a daily session of constructive critique, helping you to take your photography to the next level.

Nikonians Academy adding dates, courses to 2015 calendar
Nikonians Academy Director Mike Hagen reports the academy staff is wrapping up the October schedule with plenty more to come before the year is out.
Mike posted a quick message from the road:
"What a busy few
weeks we've had at the Nikonians Academy. With photo adventure travel to Acadia
National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Yosemite National Park and classroom
workshops in Los Angeles and Seattle, we are busier than ever. This week, we
have workshops in New York and still have a few seats available if you'd like
to sign up."
If you are thinking of signing up for one of the New York City workshops (led by Steve Simon) here's a look at the schedule:
▪ Master
the Nikon D600, D610, D7000 and D7100 - In Depth 2 - Oct. 22
▪ Master
the Nikon D800, D810, Df, D4 and D4s - In Depth 1 - Oct. 23
▪ Master
the Nikon D800, D810, Df, D4 and D4s - In Depth 2 - Oct. 24
▪ The
Passionate Nikon Photographer Two-Day Mastery Workshop - Oct. 25-26
Coming up, Mike Hagen is leaving for Tanzania to lead is 8th Photo Safari on November 1st. If you missed this year's trip, then don't wait o sign up for next year's African Photo Safari. It is already posted and members are beginning to sign up.
The dates for 2015 are November 4-15.
Mike tells us he likes to give plenty of planning time for his Safari participants:
"Yes, it is a
long ways off, but start planning now for the trip of a lifetime! We are
limiting the size to 12 participants and this number includes your tour leader.
One of the best
aspects of this trip is that we are only allowing three photographers per
vehicle. This means that each person will have an entire row to themselves with
one seat for their camera gear and the other seat for themselves. There will be
plenty of room to move around and everyone will have perfect access to all
photo opportunities."
Looking ahead...
Join Rick Hulbert in Los Angeles this December for his signature Urban and Street Photography workshop designed to help photographers with composition, creativity and passion. This is a four-day workshop with a maximum enrollment of 10 people.
This workshop is designed to get you to think about concepts in architectural and urban photography that you hadn't thought of or considered before. That is, admittedly, a rather bold statement. However, that is exactly what this four-day experience will achieve.
You will discover how to better frame and crop architectural and urban images using the long established basic principles of portrait, wedding, and event photography. By the way, if you are a wedding or event ehotographer, this workshop will take your photography up a notch as well.
You will learn how to create jaw-dropping images that will be the envy of both your photographer friends and potential future clients.
Rick is one of the best instructors in the industry and you will love his mix of detailed knowledge and humor.
Next Year...
We are working on our 2015 workshop schedule right now and
will be posting
more workshops within the next week for cities around the USA and countries
around the world. Look for workshops on new cameras, new flashes, new software
and new locations. We love photography here at the Nikonians Academy and have a
passion to share that love with the world.

Rick Hulbert's newest global
tour begins
Check out Rick Hulbert's Urban and Street Photography Workshops in Los Angeles and San Diego this December and January. Rick is a professional architect and professional photographer. He knows his stuff and is a great instructor. Participants from previous workshops give Rick rave reviews and can't wait to come back for more.
Here are just a few examples:
?That was the best photographic presentation I have ever attended, without
question. I loved your story telling and your analogies ? bodies and buildings,
feet and foundations.?
? Lloyd Houghton
?Just a short note to thank you for your recent Urban
Travel Workshop. I learned a great deal from your wide-ranging lectures, in
fact, more than I have from other workshops I have attended. Your teaching
style and methodology really resonated with me. The ?three E?s? of composition
are now firmly entrenched and help me to pre-visualize and plan images. We
appreciated the significant time and effort you put into both the lectures and
field trip portions of this workshop.?
? Gordon Griffiths
?. . . Rick?s background as an Architect makes him a
glove fit for a workshop on urban & street photography. As an instructor,
Rick uses humor very effectively to convey his principles about framing, cropping
and composing a photo. In the field making photos or in a hotel meeting room
reviewing student?s images, Rick is non-judgmental, while at the same time he
manages to give useful feedback to the students in his classes . . . I look
forward to the opportunity to attend other workshops that Rick will teach in
the future.?
? Bruce Bourbon
For those of you in Europe, Rick has two more workshops planned for London and Munich next year.
Speaking of global?
If you are an international photographer, then be sure to check out our diverse list of trips to places like Iceland in Winter, Costa Rica, Iceland in Summer, Galapagos Islands and Tanzania.
