Six new Nikon cameras unveiled
Start weighing your piggy-bank.
Nikon has beefed up their COOLPIX line and added a new "DL" series of cameras to their inventory.
That's six new models (more if you add body color choices).
The COOLPIX line will hit the streets first (in a few weeks) followed by the summertime launch of the new DL series.
Nikon describes the DL series as a link between their professional and consumer lines.
The new DL cameras (and suggested retail prices) are:
▪ DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 $849.95 USD
▪ DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8 $649.95 USD
▪ DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6 $999.95 USD
To quote an old saying "the name says it all."
Each of Nikon's new models comes with a specific NIKKOR lens group, with the model name sharing both the body style and the lens specifications. Under the hood you will find a 20.8-megapixel (CX-format) 1-inch BSI CMOS sensor on all three new cameras as well as 4K UHD video capability [3840x2160].
The new Nikon DL series cameras offers unique features that should satisfy most shooting styles, ranging from macro to 21-X zoom capabilities.

The new COOLPIX cameras (and suggested retail prices) are:
▪ COOLPIX B500 $299.95 USD
▪ COOLPIX B700 $499.95 USD
▪ COOLPIX A900 $399.95 USD
Nikon's Press Release describes the new cameras as a perfect marriage of zoom abilities and wireless connectivity:
"Designed to capture stunning images, 4K UHD (in select models) and HD video from up close or far away, these new COOLPIX cameras boast super-long zoom lenses and superior performance while also offering Nikon SnapBridge for easy sharing of photos. Providing outstanding zoom capabilities ranging from 60x and 40x respectively, the COOLPIX B700 and COOLPIX B500 allow users to explore their creative freedom regardless of the distance. With a powerful 35x zoom lens, the COOLPIX A900 is a compact, stylish and feature-packed camera that fits comfortably in a pocket. "
