Nikonians fundraiser 2016 begins

fundraiser-cht-w_120.jpgNikonians.org founders Bo Stahlbrandt (bgs) and J. Ramón Palacios (jrp) have kicked off the 2016 fundraising campaign.

The target for this campaign is $50,000 and once again the funds are destined to help keep up with growing requirements for increased technical goals.

Introducing the campaign, our founders remind us we are a not-for-profit community, and any revenue generated through our operations is reinvested to sustain our growth.

fundraiser-Sept-2016_225.jpgWe have achieved the following based upon last years fundraising campaign:

Secure connection to all of our sites (TLS aka SSL), changed the way images are shown in the forums using a new resizing and caching service, new servers with better performance, improved delivery speed using a Content Delivery Network (CDN), introduced NEF upload possibility (in certain forums), better support for the "white theme" with dark text on white background, improved readability and enhanced mobile usage experience to mention just a few items.

There are though lots of items we are pursuing and some of them are only feasible with your additional support, such as improving the image galleries and organizing more events and local gatherings.

Your support will allow us to pursue our work and continue our mission to share, learn and inspire.

Check our 2016 Fundraising Campaign page today. It provides easy access to our donation system and includes links to

our Wiki: Are you doing all this for a profit?

and What was done with the money in earlier fundraising campaigns?
